DealCatcher, sans extra features, is just like every other online coupon service. In fact, this coupon service offers a smaller coupon variety than the best coupon websites. Thankfully, however, this site has some redeeming qualities, including access to popular Sunday ads, a community forum and a section where you can compare prices on electronics, clothing, baby gear and more.
You can browse through and clip hundreds of grocery coupons sorted by category, such as Health Care, Foods, Entertainment, Flowers & Gifts, etc. If you use other online coupon services, such as Coupons.com, the available coupons through DealCatcher may look similar, and that's because they are. This coupon website borrows its coupons from Coupons.com, but you are able to clip and print the coupons directly from the DealCatcher website. You can share these coupons with up to four friends and family members via email. We are disappointed that this is the only sharing option.
Besides grocery coupons, this online coupon service has coupon codes and printable coupons for a variety of popular merchants, such as Kohl's, Carter's and McDonalds. You can click on the offer, which will link you to the coupon's location. Simply print off and take into the store with you to enjoy your savings.
You can type in a specific keyword or merchant using the search bar, or you can browse deals via categories such as:
Each of these categories then have subheads for a more detailed search. DealCatcher filters Everything Else, for example, into Travel & Luggage, Baby & Kids, Health & Beauty, Pets, etc. We suggest that you click on the subhead before filtering down into these more specific categories so that you can see the best deals for that category.
At the top of every page, you will find several tabs. These include:
Coupons & Deals – This tab leads you to a magical page where you will find hundreds of deals and coupons. When researching this site, there had been 125 deals and 131 coupons posted to this section just that day. Each deal and coupon is sorted by the categories listed above.
Black Friday – During the Christmas Season, DealCatcher is the place to look for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. You can even download the iPhone and Android app so you can search for the best deals and create your shopping list accordingly.
Compare Prices – This is one of our favorite features on the website. You can shop in over 25 departments, all with their own deals. In the Camera department, for example, the site had a deal for the Canon Rebel T3i and then displayed the price of the camera offered by five different stores. The store that had the best price was marked in red and featured the total discount you would be receiving on the camera.
Directly through the DealCatcher site, you can compare prices, read the product details of the item and read customer reviews for the product.
Sunday Ads – Select the state you are living in and the site will generate SundaySavers, which are the Sunday advertisements from many of your local stores. This is our favorite feature. We don't have to subscribe to the newspaper to get the Sunday ads, which is fantastic. Each of the links will take you to the store's main website. Here, you can navigate to the weekly ad.
Forums – You will need to register for an online account before you can post to the Forum. But here, people will talk about hot deals they have encountered, any free stuff, grocery coupons, merchant problems, product details, rebates, etc.
If you are in the market for a specific camera or laptop, or know that you need to buy diapers ASAP, you can set up a deal alert for specific brand names or just a keyword. You will receive an email alert as soon as that keyword or phrase appears in DealCatcher's database.
This online coupon service has a lot of features, which can be overwhelming when you first use the site. DealCatcher is not as polished as many of the best coupon services, and the user interface and navigation are affected by this. While we appreciate all of the deals that you can find on every page, we wish the entire site was less cluttered and more organized.
DealCatcher does provide a Help & FAQs section where you can find questions and answers to the most frequently asked questions by customers. You can also contact customer support by filling out an online form, or you can call the main office in Delaware using the support phone number.
The Forum is an ideal place to ask questions from fellow couponers and deal-finders who frequently use DealCatcher and other online coupon services.
Overall, DealCatcher is a good site, not great, due to user navigation and ease of use issues, but all of the extra features, such as the Sunday ads and the ability to compare prices made DealCatcher very enjoyable to use.
